History
From the Marché-couvert to Espace Gruyère: more than 40 years of history !
- 1971
For the first exhibition, the primary aim was to show how Fribourg's livestock breeding had evolved as a result of cross-breeding. 220 cows (80 black piebalds and 140 red piebalds) were presented. According to the newspaper "La Gruyère", thousands of breeders came to see the exhibition. The event was organised by the cantonal Department of Agriculture in conjunction with the two cantonal breeding federations . It should be noted that the Canadian embassy was very interested in the organisation of this event and helped to set up a seminar the day after the competition. - 1974
